Blue 1965 Corvette Fuelie

Produced on March 10, 1965, which was around the time the first "bigblock" Corvettes started being made. I believe that Bill Mock owns the first production 396, which was made on March 19, 1965. With the introduction of the 425 horse power 396 cubic inch engine that cost almost $250.00 less than the 375 H.P. fuel injected 327 the popularity of the fuelies faded. They were, however produced through the end of the model year.

This Nassau Blue car with white interior is documented with 1) original bill of sale 2) the original hand written order form 3) shippers copy 4) the POP 5) completed owner history [ only 5 owners in 47 years ] The car is equipped with 4 speed transmission, transistor ignition, 5 original KO wheels and a 4:56 posi-traction rear end, a push button AM/FM radio, and of course Fuel Injection.

This car has the original engine and fuel injection unit and all date codes match.

After a very extensive and detailed total "body off restoration" by Cary Kuczkowski of D&M  Corvette (Downers Grove, IL.) . This restoration was documented with 2000 pictures and 2 hours of video. [Many people will take about "a no hit body" but who has 100's of pictures to demonstrate the fact]. Every nut and bolt was examined for correctness, cleaned and re-plated. Any reproduction bolts were replaced with originals.

The car was rolled out at Bloomington Gold 2003 and scored better than 97.8. In August it was "Top Flighted at a NCRS meet at Gelena Il. In November 2003 at the Chevy/vettefest this car earned the Triple Crown" award. In addition this car was given the Judges Choice as the "Top Gun" award in the "original or restored Corvette class.
At Bloomington 2014 it scored 98.7 and got the OEM engine recognition.
